STEP UP TO THE MIC & THE AUDITION

Workshop 1: STEP UP TO THE MIC (1:00-2:30pm)

Ever thought of doing voices for cartoons, videogames or commercials or wondered how to put together a professional sounding demo? Then join professional voiceover actor and singer, Glenn Coulson (from Rogers TV's Daytime, PBS's hit animation show Postcards from Buster, Disney's The Music Man and YTV's Monster Warriors) as he walks you through the exciting world of voiceover and singing demos.

Learn what material to put on your demo, tips on how to find your natural voice, learn how to take chances at your auditions and nail them! This session will provde you with the ‘ins’ and ‘outs’ of being in the studio and stepping up to the microphone!

What To Bring:

• Paper and pencil for note taking

• Commercial script suited for the age category and/or best 16 bars of a song you would like to record,

Workshop 2: THE AUDITION (2:30-4:00pm)

Learn the skills and industry jargon needed to land the role from agents and casting director through this informative and interactive workshop.

What to Bring:

•  1 ½ - 2 minute memorized monologue

• Pencil and paper for notes

• Dress in white dress shirt and black dress pants

Kerri Archer make up artist for the stars and former model will teach you how to apply make up properly for your skin colour and face shape.  Kerri will help you use make up for the natural look, dramatic look and whatever the photo shoot will require.  The second half of the day will be dedicated to teaching you how to take control of your runway.  Learn to walk with grace, poise and serious attitude.

What to Bring:

Come with a clean face and hair pulled back.  Bring your own make up –foundation, eye shadow, mascara, blush and your favorite shades.  Kerri will also bring make up for the students to test and work with.   Q-tips, cotton pads and cream will also help with removal of make up.

The runway portion will require each model to bring there highest heel they have and casual dress.  For men dress shoes and casual dress.
