Pilates Training Certification Course

The Pilates Certification course through Tranter Institute will be instructed under the teaching of Monica Tranter and Lawrence Hayward, Pilates guru and first student teacher to Joseph Pilates.  This program is designed to educate its future instructors on the Tranter Hayward Pilates Methodology with its main goal of learning, locating and teaching the Pilates idea of controlology.  Through and how it applies to over 1000 Pilate’s exercises, each student will begin to feel from the inside out the body in its areas of function, dysfunction, structure and application.

Training Syllabus in Segments.

Mat

Step 1

¨      Full Hayward-Pilates work on mat

¨      Breakdown of elementary, intermediate and advanced workouts

¨      Functional anatomy

¨      78 hours of instruction

¨      100 hours of observation

¨      200 hours of teaching

¨      100 teaching hours in presence of certification instructor

Step 2

¨      Full Hayward-Pilates work on mat

¨      Breakdown of elementary, intermediate and advanced workouts

¨      Functional anatomy-Taught by massage therapist

¨      78 hours of instruction

¨      100 hours of observation

¨      200 hours of teaching

¨      100 teaching hours in presence of Certification instructor

¨      Breakdown of full chair workout

¨      Functional anatomy-taught by a massage therapist.

¨      72 hours of instruction

¨      100 hours of observation

Step 4

¨      Functional anatomy-taught by a massage therapist.

Step 3

¨      Communication and teaching skills

¨      Adaption of the techniques or varied goals and injuries

¨      Postural analysis

¨      70 hours of massage teaching hours

¨      40 hours of anatomy instruction

¨      60 hours of supervised teaching in each apparatus

¨      100 hours of apprenticeship teaching in each apparatus

¨      100 hours observation in each apparatus

 Certification

¨      On Mat and Reformer you must complete all segments 1 & 3.

¨      Full Certification you must complete all three segments

¨      Examination you must successfully complete both a written and practical examination to achieve certification.
