Pilates Training Certification Course

The Pilates Certification course through Tranter Institute will be instructed under the teaching of Monica Tranter and Master Advisor Lawrence Hayward, Pilates guru and first student teacher to Joseph Pilates.  This program is designed to educate its future instructors on the Tranter Pilates Methodology with its main goal of learning, locating and teaching the Pilates idea of controlology.  Through and how it applies to over 1000 Pilate’s exercises each student will begin to feel from the inside out the body in its areas of function, dysfunction, structure and application.

Course Description:

Tranter Pilates Fundamentals is an entry level course to the Pilates full Mat Certification. It is a 16 hour introductory course that teaches you fundamental exercises which explain the core principles as well as 27 basic mat exercises. In this course, students will gain a deeper understanding of:

• Basic anatomy of the body and its application to Pilates exercises
• Biomechanics of trunk and spinal movement
• Breathing: How it relates to internal abdominals and movement.
• Theoretical and practical postural evaluations
• Verbal and imagery cueing related to Pilates
• 27 classic mat exercises
• Modifications and proper adjustments for a variety of body types

Requirements:
Previous experience of 6 months bodywork such as Yoga, Dance, Pilates or Fusion classes.

* Certification will be granted upon successful completion of the course
* Certification will be for Basic Pilates Mat Work

$575 plus HST-$250 deposit required to secure your spot, due by June 24th 2010
